Areez Katki is an independent textile practitioner based in Auckland, New Zealand. Katki draws from historic and social research to produce works which address his involvement in a number textile practises - with focuses on maintaining a language of hand-worked expression. In one sector of his work, he specialises in creating pieces of clothing, hand-knitted and hand-embroidered in Aotearoa. These pieces strive to maintain intimate dialogues between source, maker and patrons of fine craft.

Since Areez's debut capsule collection at Miss Crabb in 2009, each body of work has been carefully researched and utilises materials that were thoughtfully sourced during his travels. A series of embroidered objects and accessories have been recently introduced, acting as a bridge between his textile art and garment-making practices.

Each piece comes signed, dated & 'editioned'. This online store offers a selection from Katki's limited works, which were created at his studio in Parnell, Auckland.
