COMPOSITION XV : TIE-UP VEST

NEW garment from the 'Composition Series' based on watercolour drawings by Areez Katki.

Hand knitted from a variety of homespun regional wool fibres, this series serves as an ongoing link between Katki's synaesthesic artwork and textile making practices. This piece was composed in response to the East Auckland landscape around sunset.

In double-moss stitch, the Tie-Up Vest features intarsia colour work with geometric patterns at the front and block stripes at the back - it can also be worn reversed. Additional details include side loopholes which thread an internal hand-knitted sash, which can be tied around the front or back.

Yarn: Homespun NZ Wool featuring Merino and Drysdale (Black contains 25% silk)

Treatment: Hand-spun fibres and custom AZO-free dyed yarns.
